The Dallas Producers Association was founded in 1978 and to
celebrate its 30 years in existence, a major event is scheduled
for Tuesday, December 2, 2008 at the Hotel Palomar (Mockingbird
and Central Expy.) This will be a special evening consisting
of a celebration of the Association’s long history.
The night will, of course, consist of ample time for socialization
and memories, followed by dinner and then meaningful presentations.
One of the evening’s highlights will be the screening
of the DPA Commemorative Reel showing representative examples
of productions produced by member companies during the Association’s
30-year life. As a special treat, everyone who attends the celebration
will be given a DVD copy of the reel, courtesy of DPA member
company, TapeOnLine.
Bob Dauber, chairperson for the event and a co-founder of the
DPA said, “This truly will be a very significant occasion.
There aren’t a whole lot of organizations like ours that
have had the staying power, growth and productivity that we’ve
been able to demonstrate over a 30-year period.”
The Association is hoping to have as many past-presidents of
the DPA in attendance as possible. Plans are also in the works
to have special guests and dignitaries, important to the North
Texas moving image industry, as well.
The event is open to the entire community, with ticket prices
set at $20 for DPA members and guests; $25 for non-DPA members.
